Add two more school enterprise joint laboratories: Shenzhen Mingyang Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Taike Power System Co., Ltd

On the morning of October 12, 2023, Shenzhen University of Technology held a signing ceremony with Mingyang Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Mingyang Energy") and Shenzhen Taike Power System Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Taike Power") for the joint construction of a laboratory by the university and enterprises. Tan Liming, Chairman of Mingyang Energy, Li Changbiao, Chairman of Taiko Power, Professor Wu Xu, Director of Scientific Research and School Enterprise Cooperation Department at Shenzhen University of Technology, Professor Han Peigang, Dean of the School of New Materials and New Energy, and teachers from the School of New Materials attended the ceremony and witnessed the signing.

At the symposium, Director Wu Xu first welcomed the arrival of six leaders from Mingyang Energy and Taike Power Company, and gave a detailed introduction to the school enterprise cooperation concept and development situation of the school. He pointed out that he hopes that in the future, both schools and enterprises can deepen cooperation and exchange, fully leverage their respective advantages in their respective fields, accelerate the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in schools, assist in talent cultivation and technological iteration of enterprises, and enhance their core competitiveness.

Dean Han Peigang gave a detailed introduction to the disciplinary direction and current status of school enterprise cooperation of the School of New Materials and New Energy. He pointed out that the school enterprise joint laboratory can achieve resource sharing and complementary advantages. On the one hand, it can improve the quality of education, and outstanding talents jointly cultivated by both parties are more popular; On the other hand, school enterprise cooperation can promote the integration of industry, academia, and research, combine theoretical knowledge with practice, promote technological progress and industrial development, enhance the core competitiveness and innovation ability of enterprises, and provide stable talent supply for enterprises. Finally, Dean Han wishes the joint laboratory fruitful results, and the college will continue to strongly support the development of the joint laboratory.

Tan Liming, Chairman of Mingyang Energy, agrees with the school enterprise cooperation concept of Shenzhen University of Technology and specifically points out the urgent need for applied technical talents. Shenzhen University of Technology will have great potential. Subsequently, he briefly introduced the basic situation of Mingyang Energy Company and hoped that the two sides could deepen cooperation, establish a good cooperative relationship, and achieve mutual complementarity and win-win in talent cultivation, technology research and development, etc.

Chairman Li Changbiao of Taike Power gave a detailed introduction to the current development status and talent concept of Taike Power, emphasizing the role of school enterprise cooperation in talent cultivation, talent selection, and talent delivery in enterprises. He also specifically pointed out the training needs of existing engineers in enterprises, hoping that school enterprise cooperation can explore new forms of cooperation, further promote the development of existing talents in enterprises, and enhance the attractiveness of enterprises to talents. Finally, Chairman Li Changbiao hopes that both sides can leverage their geographical proximity to deepen communication and establish an efficient, open, and effective joint laboratory.

Associate Professor Hu Yunfei, as the director of the Light Storage Direct Flexible Joint Laboratory, provided a detailed introduction to the research background and content of the laboratory. She pointed out that Light Storage Direct Flexible is a new energy system that combines solar photovoltaic, energy storage, DC distribution, and flexible energy consumption. The joint laboratory will leverage our technological advantages in the fields of solar photovoltaics, energy storage systems, and new energy power electronics to assist enterprises in further enhancing their core competitiveness, forming a mutually beneficial and common development of scientific research and industry, and achieving a win-win situation between industry and academia.

Zeng Shaozhong, as the director of the lithium battery innovation application joint laboratory, introduced the purpose and main content of the joint laboratory. The joint laboratory is an open platform, and its research content is not only limited to the simulation and actuarial calculation of battery state of charge, but also includes the development of high-performance electrode materials, binders, and sodium ion batteries. The establishment of the joint laboratory is in line with the concept proposed by President Ruan: the research topics of teachers at Shenzhen University of Technology should originate from the actual problems of enterprises. Through this joint laboratory project, we aim to achieve a gain cycle where the research topic comes from the enterprise and the results return to the enterprise.

Dean Han Peigang, Chairman Tan Liming, and Chairman Li Changbiao have signed an agreement on the joint construction of a laboratory by schools and enterprises, to carry out in-depth cooperation in deepening the integration of industry, academia, and research, technological innovation, and talent cultivation.

After the signing ceremony, Director Wu Xu, Dean Han Peigang, Associate Professor Hu Yunfei (Director of the Joint Laboratory), and Chairman Tan Liming jointly held the unveiling ceremony of the Light Storage Direct Flexible Joint Laboratory. Afterwards, Director Wu Xu, Dean Han Peigang, Senior Engineer Zeng Shaozhong (Director of the Joint Laboratory), and Chairman Li Changbiao jointly held the unveiling ceremony of the lithium battery innovation application joint laboratory.

Introduction to Mingyang Energy:

Shenzhen Mingyang Energy Technology Co., Ltd. was established in 2012. It is a professional integrator and investment operator of solar thermal systems, photovoltaic power generation systems, energy storage systems, and charging pile systems. It is also a national high-tech enterprise integrating research and development, design, installation, and operation, as well as a specialized and innovative enterprise in Shenzhen. Famous foreign partners include State Power Investment Corporation of China, State Grid Corporation of China, Southern Power Grid, China Construction Technology Corporation, China Construction Science and Engineering Corporation, and China Electric Power Construction Corporation. The cumulative construction scale of photovoltaic power stations has exceeded 300MW, and the self owned and operated distributed photovoltaic power stations have reached 50MW. The construction scale of solar hot water has reached 3 million square meters, solving the demand for concentrated hot water in most schools and hospitals in the Pearl River Delta region.

Shenzhen Taike Power System Co., Ltd. was established in 2018 and has always been committed to providing high-quality and safe lightweight power system solutions and technical services to society. After years of research and development investment and accumulation, Taike Power has multiple core patents in the field of lithium batteries, and has always insisted on providing customized lithium battery BMS solutions in its operations. Anhui Taike Power System Co., Ltd. (a professional lithium battery production factory) and its Spanish branch (European Technical Service Center) were established in 2022. It is a professional manufacturer of lithium battery packs in China, a national high-tech enterprise (in 2020 and 2023), and a specialized and innovative enterprise in Guangdong Province.
