On the afternoon of June 1, 2021, at the invitation of Dean Han Peigang of the School of New Materials and New Energy, Xu Feng, general manager of SMIC Integrated Circuit Manufacturing (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. and members of the company,took a visit to Shenzhen Technology University, during which he was received by President Ruan Shuangchen. In the face of new challenges and new opportunities in the integrated circuit industry, Shenzhen Technology University and SMIC (Shenzhen) are located in Pingshan District, Shenzhen, as the leader of Shenzhen University's educational innovation mission and the leader of the industry, the cooperation between the two sides has the natural advantages of favorable time, place and people. President Ruan and Mr. Xu have identified two major areas of cooperation: joint training of integrated circuit industry talents and joint research on industrial technical problems.

In terms of talent training, Shenzhen Technology University will set up a professional class for SMIC, customize the process, quality and core technology courses in the basic education of microelectronics majors, hire SMIC experts to teach content on integrated circuit manufacturing, strengthen corporate internships, and enable students to truly grow into first-class applied engineering and technical talents in China during the university education stage.

In terms of joint technical research, we pay attention to equipment, materials and core components. Shenzhen University of Technology will carry out project cooperation with SMIC to the greatest extent through the School of New Materials and New Energy, the professional capabilities of the relevant faculties and departments of the whole university, and the international academic strength, through the combination of government, enterprises and other forces, combined with the strong influence of SMIC itself.
