The main direction of the laboratory is the application of organic semiconductors in photovoltaic devices. It has equipment for the entire process of photovoltaic device preparation, packaging, testing, characterization, and basic physical research, such as a glove box, solar cell quantum efficiency tester, high vacuum coating machine, in-situ spectral analyzer, dynamic spectrometer, solar simulator, Fourier transform photocurrent spectrometer, slit extrusion coating machine, solar cell aging testing system, electroluminescence quantum efficiency tester, indoor light simulator, carrier testing and analysis system, etc.

Zhang Guangye, the head of the research group, is a B-class overseas high-level talent in Shenzhen, a young PI from Runyuan, Shenzhen University of Technology, and one of the top 2% scientists in the world. He is also a cited scientist from Korei Wei'an High School. The research group has multiple projects at the provincial and municipal levels, and has published more than 20 papers in the field of organic photovoltaics in the past three years, including Advanced Materials, Advanced Energy Materials, Nano Energy, etc., and has applied for multiple patents.
