Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Ultra-Diamond and Functional Crystal Application Technology, relying on the excellent industrial foundation of Shenzhen, focuses on the "Shenzhen Action Plan of 'Made in China 2025'", inheriting the application-oriented and international discipline development and talent cultivation direction of Shenzhen Technology University. It takes multi-functional crystal materials such as diamond, perovskite phase materials, transparent crystalline ceramics, and sapphire as the research objects, conducts related basic research and technological development, achieves breakthroughs in key fields, solves the "stuck neck" problems, and promotes their applications in chip manufacturing, precision manufacturing, solar cells, 5G communication, high-power lasers, lithium batteries, and new semiconductor devices, contributing to the development of the "20+8" industrial clusters in Shenzhen and the implementation and realization of the medium and long-term "Shenzhen Research" plan.

The laboratory currently has a scientific research space of 1,200 square meters, and more than 80 sets of research and development material preparation and testing instruments, with an original value of more than 32 million yuan. A research and development platform for material preparation, processing and simulation calculation has been initially established. Meanwhile, the laboratory is the undertaking unit of the ISO TC 181 WG8 Secretariat and the director unit of the Jewelry and Ornament Testing Committee of the Shenzhen Analytical Testing Association.
