Liu Qingxia, Chair Professor

 

Profile:

Liu Qingxia is a member of the Canadian Academy of Engineering. He is a tenured professor in the Faculty of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Alberta (Canada). He is currently a Chair Professor in the School of New Energy and New Materials at Shenzhen Technology University. He is the Director of Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Marine Energy and Environmental Safety (Preparation) and the Director of Shenzhen Technology University Advanced Energy Storage Technology Pilot Platform. He was a member of the Alberta Professional Engineering, Geology, Geophysics Association (APEGGA), the American Chemical Society (ACS), the American Society of Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME), the Canadian Society of Chemical Engineering (CSCE), and the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM).

Liu Qingxia is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of energy, minerals, and the environment, with a distinguished research record in the areas of environmental protection, clean energy, and new materials research and development. He has published over 240 scientific papers in prestigious international journals. He is the holder of 27 U.S. patents and 30 Chinese patents, some of which have been successfully applied commercially, and has had an outstanding record in the translation of knowledge into practical applications. He currently leads research groups in the areas of new energy materials, advanced energy storage technologies, and ocean energy.
